So so so so! The engine is in, loom is in, not the cleanest job but I've got to get it up and running due to change of job, few things I've came across, I don't seem to have front indicator wires or side light wires on the loom or is it because they changed from spade connectors to plugs? Will post pictures asap, I have 2 white plugs near headlight plugs

Butchered GT looms annoy me, for a simple plug and play conversion people love to make life hard for themselves.  The best thing to do is connect what you have then try and figure out what you ar

So I've got the arb blocks but no idea how they fit, any advice??

they just replace the standard ones, make sure they pull the bar towards the front of the car , then fit the clamps inside of the blocks.  you will need the tracking adjusted afterwards

skim through my build thread

My ARB blocks pull the bar forwards towards front of car.

This increases castor and avoids the manifold.

Lowered 60/40 with 5 speed ARB and corners better than before when I had h 4-speed box and standard 4 speed ARB, or 5 speed box and inverted 4 speed ARB (don't do this it smashes the gearbox end plate)..

Yeah, PPP say pulls to front too

Is the car lowered?

The car the car is Lowered, 70mm all round, that's where my problem is being caused, I've fitted them but it's still the same it's still hitting the manifold, just going to heat it up and make a ding in it

SO I've got a problem, I've got my pump running when I turn the ignition on, but when cranking it cuts off, I've got a live when cranking but it won't, any ideas?? I've connected live when cranking to the pink and brown wire under the dash

I had that issue, with aftermarket electric fuel pump... but with carb it does not matter Once the float chamber is filled (about 3 seconds) I can crank and it will fire.

With injection you need pressure in fuel rail.

You'll have to find a switched live that the X-relief relay does not disconnect.

Black wire to pin 14 on instrument panel?

Won''t that reduce flow?

I'm lowered 60 at front, but my ARB is pulled forwards.

Better handling no manifold rub. Maybe yours is different 4-2-1 manifold?

It's only a slight ding, mines 4-2-1 yeah, not sure what the difference is

Update, It's sprung a leak?, suspect crankseal transmission end ?, the only one I didn't change due to it looking ok, in heinsite I should of changed it but I guess it's just one of them things, seal has been ordered incase it is what I fear it is and hopefully it will be sorted on the weekend, all this before I move jobs to be a technician in vw, just very greatful for my current employer letting me use the ramps

Emoji's don't work lol

What is the emoji for sod's law? Definitely not distributor o-ring?

Ramps- luxury!  When I were a lad we used to have to lick the road clean.

Good luck with the VW tech job.

I have just finished a GT throttle body that I have ported, de-wedged and slimmed down the throttle spindles if you are interested?

Looking at my brother's GT there are a couple issues with the standard air intake. The entry to the air flow sensor from the air box is pretty dire, the plastic air box lid overlaps the opening and the edges are sharp and not conducive to air flow. I would suggest opening up the mouth and making a nice radiused trumpet shape.

With the standard air box the air filter fills up the entire bottom half not allowing the incoming air to flow through the majority of the filter. The intake to the air box is small and convoluted.  I would suggest drilling some large holes in the bottom of the air box and making up a foam panel filter to put in place of the standard filter.

Whilst head is off you could consider headwork?

I'd be interested in that

Hi there, have a look at "Rusty's Porting Shed" on Facebook and message me on there for more info :D
