Mk2 Saloon Rear Window Seal

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Does anybody know of a supplier who still stocks a window seal for my Mk2 Saloon?

Started the strip down to paint and noticed water in the boot.... turns out the rear window has been siliconed up the top O/S Corner.

Obviously not correct... So before I take the window out I want a new seal in my hand in case this one is dead.

Now I have called Heritage, No luck....

Searched the Net, No Luck.....

I had thought about a Universal Window Seal- if anybody has a advise on this I'd be very grateful

Just looking for advise :)

Many thanks!

Have you tried German eBay ?  as Herritage would of been the first option

No haven't tried german ebay yet. Will try now.... Any experience with Universal Seals?

The only time I've used a universal seal was many moons ago (80's) on a MK1 Escort it worked, but still needed a load of silicon to keep the water out, but they might be better now ??

Been on a few websites for universal seals and they are well priced that's for sure!

Lots of size options too, but I need some measurements which I won't have until I remove the window.

So could anybody help with the Panel Thickness around the rear window together with the Rear Glass Thickness please?

as said I want the rubber in my hand before I remove window lol...
