Hi first time using this. Wright i have done a gti conversion, changed everything overe from a running car. My problem is my car is only running fore 2to3 seconds then dies and wont start up again! There is fuel up to the rail. The car has maching ecu,  immobiliser, transponder ring and chip in the key ( all off the gti!) now what i dont have is  continuity on the coil pack. Its excellent all the way up to the ecu. ( i dont know where to go from after the ecu!) have checked every earth, Checked all the fuses but still nothing. From the plug pin1( green& gray) and pin3 (green and yellow) to the brown plug ubove the gearbox. Pin1 goes in to 11 & pin3 goes to 12 all the way to ecu. Everything is correct up to the ecu. I even tryed a nother set ok keys  ECU Mobilisa transponder ring and chip. But out come was the same. Has anybody had this problem before? Any help will be much appreciated. Even a  wiring diagram. There has got to be some one. I forgot to say if you pull the plug and put it to the engine it will only spark a couple of times. And wont spark again untill you  disconnect terminals then reconnect?????

First Welcome to the forum.

The symptoms you are describing are classic immobiliser cutting in and killing the engine, it is possible for the immob box/key chip & ECU to loose their pairing, so you need to get someone with VagTacho to read the immob PIN code then with Full VCDS you can re-pair the immob/ECU

Would you not see a dash warning light picture of key for immobiliser fail?

And look for fault codes with VCDS or fault code  reader, what if a temp sensor is sending poor signal?

Ecu won't then be enriching for cold engine warm-up phase.

No warning light until the 9N1 onwards & the EML is in general only for emission related faults

Thank you for the reply people. I pulled the ecu  immobiliser  and pick up ring with my keys out of mu gti . The outcome is the same. I thought the immobiliser stopped the fuel pump? I have gone through everything. The dash is still out. Everything's is spot on. If its the immobiliser, i will send it away to get it removed!
