Well, the way I see it. VW got the styling nearly perfect, just needed some nice wheels and a bit of lowerage.

It's 60bhp Kam. I'd recommend eibach springs. (tis whats fitted to my GT)

Granted that it looks good, it's not the best way (IMO) to treat such a rare and mint condition car. I think Kam has got the right Idea.

I think I'm gonna have to call in a favour of Spaniel, IE we do his clutch on his G then we do the one on my Derby.

I might bring her to a show this year, depends how much cash I have. Needs MOT/Tax and some nice rims of course. Sat on steelies at the moment.

Its easy to say what you'd do if you had such a car,but would you? Really? I can,though. I know how good the MK1 looks with 7x13s and an 80mm drop. But i wouldnt do it. Id want the original steel centres and chrome caps. But id want them welded into a 5in rim. Thats me,though. Original looks,but.. As it should've been originally,if it were for a little adjustment to my way of doing things. I like what Kam's done. Its a little modded but not loosing the plot - a sweet Derby indeed.

You can get mk1 steels in 13x5.5 but they are rarer than shaved Germans.

At the end of the day its a couple of hours work to get the car back to completely standard. So if I decided I wanted it completely factory then I could revert back to that. I would never do anything irreversable (sp?) to this car!
