Alex Grant's Pearl Grey Mk3 G40

Think the wheels could work. Do they have any kind of centre cap to them? Or is there anything you could make up for the centres?

8-) still looks awesome.

  • Well, I think I've reached the point where it's done. Easy to drive, fast, fairly comfortable. It works well, and I'm tempted to leave it as it is. This position has taken me 15 years and four month

  • Took it to C&M last night for the StrassenKultur evening and… well this was awesome.

  • Soooooo... new stuff. Bought these, haven't got around to fitting them yet. Or, do I go back to the half-tinted and clear lenses? Not sure. I've also discovered the answer to a question I didn't w

I wasnt keen on um when you 1st showed pics. But now on the car i actually like um a lot

Defo need center caps, i know of a place that might stock something to fit. And a bloke that could make some really good stickers (covered in resin like stuff) for um. Let me know if you are interested in either.

Working on the centre caps. Don't mind seeing the hub nuts up front but the dust caps on the back make me sad.

Trouble is the wheels are so concave that the dust caps protrude out of the wheel centre at the back. This means I can't just stick a badge over them.

So yes, suggestions welcome.

I'm in love! awesome car dude

Looking good Alex. Try Ultralite or Minilite for centre caps, they might do some in the right size.

Oh nooo you have have all this work done to the car to be rocking hub nuts and dust caps. That's be like wearing an expensive suit with flip flops and socks.

Can't you fashion something like compomotive caps to go over them?

caps

You could then fill the lettering on them or put some centre stickers on them?

I don't really know what I'm talking about but you have to do something :-) It's the law.

The centre bore of the wheels is fairly large - about 63mm if I remember.

I'm struggling a bit - I've seen some Team Dynamics flat caps that'll fit but they won't go over the dust caps!

No other tpe of dust caps you could use/mod to fit better?

Or if you have the space you could use spacers on the rear which would give you more dust cap clearance?

They'd have to be huge. 20mm at least.

Ahhhh fair play that would look retarded. Hope you sort something out as caps are a must for making a wheel look finished imo.

I much prefer the old wheels Alex.

The work and quality of finish is second to none, fantastic turnout, bet your over the moon mate.

I reckon a lot of doubters will change their minds once they see the wheels in real life.

They fit better, for starters. Width and offset is much better than the Speedlines.

I don't make decisions lightly :-)

It's dirty and it's overcast outside. Mind you that's still miles better than it was!

Bumpers are almost the same colour as the paint!

Wheels sat slightly wider at the rear if you have the room and it would be sat perect (well in an aesthetic sense at least :-))

Looks good though we need a full set of good quality pics from you soon though as so far its impossible to pass fair judgement on them.

It'll happen soon enough. It's just not worth it until I've had a chance to really get it cleaned up.

Forums being the fickle places they are, I'd sooner wait and take proper pics instead of spoiling it by showing pics with glossy paint and tired bumpers.

I wish I had some flash units to light it properly!

Plus that paint is REALLY going to pop with this on it:
