Gear box gets a good clean before painting. I got a 8p 5 speed that I was going to use but been advised not to on here.

  • Ordered a few parts for front brakes. Discs, pads, refurb kit for callipers,  brake flex, arb bushes and lower arms.

  • All ready done steveo3002 thee amount of sand And grit mud mc fries etc that came off was unreal. 

  • Rear boot lid has rusted behind number plate fixings.  So cut out rust and welded in me metal.

not sure why you wouldnt fit a 5 speed mate...

Sounds like bad advice, did they want to buy the 5 speed too......

yeah i mean theyve kinda caught on over the last few years , not like it was some crazy fad that didnt work out

how about some nice cross plies - heard them radial tyres aint up to much

Well I had the 5 speed sitting in lock up for a while and I asked on hear should I replace the 4 speed for my 5 speed 8p gear box.  You all said don't bother??  

best thing i ever did to mine ...much more relaxed and confortable to use on longer runs

up to you mate 

 

i like mine - relaxed cruising and with the 1300 /1400 enough oomph to pass on the motorways etc in 5th

 

could always leave it in 4th if you dont like it lol

Well it's bolted up and back in car now.  Never mind I can still use it in my 1.3 cl when I need to fit a new clutch etc.

4 speed cleaned and bolted back to engine. Looks alot better.

did you grease the clutch lever?

Wait, someone asked a question that wasnt how to fit 9j to the rear of a breadvan or how do a 20vt conversion without any money or mechanical skills

Freshly painted struts and arb steering arms etc with new  upper and lower bearings and back plate,  AP lower springs and shocks. New hard brake lines installed.

Brake callipers got a strip down clean paint and new piston seal kit and nipples and brake pipe.

rear beam,  brakes, shocks, springs all removed ready for stripping back to metal. With new replacement parts.

Out came the rusty tank. Some may say it looks ok but its was leaking from the lower neck . I have new replacement tank been prepped for epoxy paint.

New petrol tank been taken back to metal and sprayed 3 coats of black epoxy 121..
