Newbie resto project!

Featured Replies

Evening guys and girls!

ive not long got back from paying for my breadvan I won on eBay for the princely sun of £56! It's going to be a restoration project for me and my 6 year old son. She needs a fair bit of love after being stored in a barn for the past 10 years!

Its due to be collected next weekend so I'll post some better pics when she arrives but here are a few from the eBay ad...

look forward to picking your collective brains when the time comes and posting regular updates of what's been going on (may be a long resto as I'll be trying to "teach" my son along the way)

but anyway...just thought I'd say hello!

Not bad price I just paid £25 for my mk2f and half way through the restoration. Good luck with it.

That needs some serious work, hope you can save it but it looks like most panels are rusting including bonnet which is never a good sign.

She does need a fair bit of love but the body is fairly solid, it was stored in a barn, the bonnet was  directly under a very small hole in the roof that slowy let water drop onto a very specific place on it and run down the front. But most of the badly rusted parts are replaceable I.e bonnet, doors etc. I have already sourced a front and rear valance as they both need replacing.

Welcome. Good find and at a good price :)

Well she's finally arrived! Had a quick tinker today as I'm busy with a customers car at the minute, previous owner said the engine was locked up so I whipped the plugs out and low and behold she turned over by hand! So that's another worry off my shoulders! She'll be sat around for a week or 2 until I get done with all my current jobs but as soon as I get a chance to do anything I'll be uploading my work! She's in good hands being parked next to her big brother ?

Quick update as I haven’t been on here in a while, no real progress made as the shop has been full of customers cars! I wanted to re trim the seats to something a little more modern to begin with but im now growing fond of the beige and brown interior! Maybe it’s all the thinners I’m inhaling who knows, so I’ve taken a seat out and I’m going to strip it and give it a good old clean up and see how the original covers come out! Here’s a before pic...
