On door lock mechanism what is the block with 4 pins for as my 2000 gti has no wires that go to it the central locking did work manually till mobile mechanic broke the lock mechanism  any help much appreciated

Those pins are for switching the pump on/off and so it knows the door is locked

There's not wires or anything anywhere for it am baffled

The box on the left is the actuator in the drivers door lock

Central locking now works but not with remote could it be ccm because interior light or alarm doesnt work is it a straight swap or does it need re coding ? 

Probably the fob & Remote rx have lost their pairing
