Hi,

 

Can anyone recommend a good skillful VW Polo mechanic in Manchester? I have already been to 7 local mechanics and none of them were able to identify the cause of vibration and rubbing sound and feel coming from left front wheel specially when turning right, bearings have been checked thoroughly, clutch replaced a week ago, wheels alligned before clutch and after. It is very annoying and frustrating. Can feel the roughness of wheels rotating and rubbing sound and feeling on feet, pedals, and car floor. Cv joints checked too. Tyres are A Ok. Alloys have recently been changed (vw oem).

 

I also noticed front wheels have positve camber and rear have negative, is that normal? 

 

Car is polo 1999 35 kw 999cc 6n2 

 

Can anyone help? A specialist mechanic based in manchester who knows vw polo 6n2 variants inside out?

It is unusual to get problems from the left hand side when turning right. The reason being , that when you turn (say) right the weight of the cars front end goes onto the right hand road wheel, so any problem would normally be on the right hand side wheel bearings etc.

Have the brakes been checked? It is possible that the calliper slides are partially seized.

Brake pads and disc replaced. Guide pins lubricated. 

The sound/feel/rubbing/groaning or whatever is it is louder when turning right and its defo coming from left front wheel.

Due to centrifugal force loading should be on opposite side of turn ( left wheel in turning right or right wheel in turning left) but this doesnt concerns me because both sides bearing have been checked.

Today rear wheels were checked too and brake shoes replaced.

 

I will take this car with me in grave.
