Polo relays

Featured Replies

Think it's a mark 5 polo petrol 1.2 engine. Heater blower, rear wipe, glove box light and 12v plug. All not working. I understand it's the x start relay, which shuts down all these items when the car is cranking over to start. Went in search of this relay to find it's buried behind the dash, behind the headlamp switch on the drivers side. Have tried to removed the dash panel to get to the relays but it won't budge. Anyone replaced relays on this board in the past? And anyone know how to get to them, or anyone had a vw dealer to do the job and what did they charge. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi

Check/replace the fuse first.

All fuses have been checked by me and RAC. None are faulty. Thanks. Roy.

Hi

What year is the car ?

I looked up Haynes manual for a 9N2 and it talks about prising off a small panel. Is it possible for you to put up a picture .

Hi vwfan3

car is a 2010 nothing to see except the trim panel above the drivers knees. Called in a garage last night and the guy was able to reach past the panel and actually take out the relay.  He must have double jointed body and arms from the place he had to retrieve the relay from. Went for a new relay today from vw and the guy is going to fix it Saturday. There's a temporary relay in for now. For anyone needing updated relay number for this it's 4H0 951 253 in location 12 on relay board. Will update Saturday when hopefully all will be well.

HI

Thanks for the update. Has the temporary relay fixed the problem?
