In with the new, the old striker pins were long gone so bought some new ones , easy change over as it was just a 15mm socket with no need to worry about the inside trim as the thread is inclosed. Shame that the hinges have gone so the door has dropped a bit.

Brilliant, aslong as it fits the same since it's for a MK1 golf ill buy it ,cheers mate

deffo fit the lower hinge which is almost aways the worn one 

 

this seller same part number ...listed for polo !!

 

NOTE the hinge pin is knurled at one end...the knurled end needs to be knocked out not driven though the hinge

Thought I'd add a photo from edition 38, anyone thinking of going next year I couldn't recommend anymore. 

1Another update, I've sprayed my front badge black and put the clear indicators on and fitted a splitter so the front-end looks alot cleaner now. Just need to underseal before winter hopefully.

Hi mate, me and my mate are just about to change the lower hinge , any advice?

 

Update on the Breadvan, I've fitted coilovers and new wheel bearing all round, was a simple enough job once we wrapped our head around doing it. Highly recommend a decent brand such as Fag so they last longer as the bearing s in the coilovers I bout had 2000 miles on and had collapsed. It's just a case of pushing the hub through the other side, remove the c clips from both sides, press the old bearing out and sending the new one in with the old bearing. Would recommend you modify some old long nose pliers as the clips in these are under loads of tension. Fitting the coilovers were a bit of trouble as all the bolts were seized however that's been ammended with copper grease now. I've lowered mine all the way down with the helpers in as I live on a farm and id actually say the ride is better than when it was with the lowering springs, just as well being stiff. I'm still running the 14s ATM however I am after a different set of wheels if anyone knows some that fit breadies. Only issue I've had so far is ground clearance with my exhaust but that's more to do with the person that made the exhaust didn't support it correctly. I ripped mine off the other night after fitting them so had the whole exhaust raised so it sits closer to the body ,plus had a new hanger welded onto the car as mine had rotted away. Only thing I catch on at the moment would be the threads on the clamp however that shouldn't be a issue. Also had a look over my brakes and decided the rear drums needed quite a bit of adjustment which required sanding the in we drum and shoe a bit. Fitting the face and adjusting through the bolt hole .
