Hello,,, i have a Mk2f 93 Polo, 1.0 litre 4 speed, totally original, I really would like to put a more powerfull engine into it but i have no idea the best way to do this and how much it would cost and what i would need to do it! Any help would be very welcome.

find someone breaking a complete car and buy all the parts from them or a whole scrap car , engines go for about £50 , then add on a service kit , fluids , clutch kit etc to do it right

It may be cheaper to buy a 1.3 and insure than insure a converted 1.0

yeh indeed ...a converted car with a standard engine may well still be classed as modified
