This may have already been answered, I picked up my new (to me) Polo sport on Saturday for the first few times both remote locked & unlocked the doors but since Monday morning the remotes have started to play up, one will neither lock or unlock and the other will only lock the car but not unlock. 

It may only be a battery issue but before I start messing around with the key fobs and batteries I would just like some advice from the experts out here.

It might well be a battery problem, however the surface mounted micro switches on the keyfobs pcb's are known to fail you can get repair kits for them but you need a very steady hand and a very small soldering iron
