9N 1.2L Fuel Filter replacement

Recommended Posts

Per Norrgren

Hi

(apologies if this is covered elsewhere, but I seem to be unable to search this forum for some reason. seems that there is only a general search that covers all forums)

I have a polo 9N 1.2 petrol 47/Kw = 64HP  Series 4  model year 2003

Vin WVWZZZ9NZ3Y057956

Var: SC AZQ X01 ; VER: SGFM5 2T037 1N1 L0GE

Engine: 9N1 0D4  45 litre fuel

I am in vain trying to find the correct fuel filter for this car.

Seems that there are some with pressure reducer built in (this is what the old filter looks like as well) and some where  you buy a separate pressure regulator.

Then you have the choice of 3 bar or 4 bar release valve.

How could you ever know what it should be for this engine?

The old filter in the car now seems to be an OEM part and who knows if this is correct or not.

Any help appreciated.

First Welcome to the forum.

Normally the pressure regulation valve is on the fuel injector rail, but your engine code AZQ doesn't https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/polo+derby+vento-ind/po/2003-253/1/133-133050/#1  it's only the AWY code that does have it on the fuel rail https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/polo+derby+vento-ind/po/2003-253/1/133-133055/#2

So you will need the filter with the pressure regulator built into it https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/polo+derby+vento-ind/po/2003-253/2/201-201040/#9A

thank you for the help.

yes, seems I need the filter with the regulator built in.

looking at the website and using 2002 modle year, it actually have different options for the filter https://volkswagen.7zap.com/en/rdw/polo+derby+vento-ind/po/2002-253/2/201-201040/#9A

and it answered the question about 3 or 4 bar on the regulator 🙂

also it shows a filter with the regulator separate.

Thank you. that is very helpful and also confirmed the model year being 2002 and not 2003 that I was led to believe before.

all the best
