Going to document the work I do on my polo that has been stood for 4 years, ive already got it through and mot by doing some welding, the anti roll bar bushes and a new exhaust. Next up will be an engine swap.

Hopefully, will just need the bodywork looking as good as the engine.

I had to keep looking at it parked up at work and I couldn't let it deteriorate any more, hopefully getting the primer in paint soon.

First 4 pics are just after the engine swap and the cbr600 bike carbs fitted, the second photo is after the wiring and engine bay was tidied up. It goes like a dream, need to fine tune the carbs but the acceleration is brilliant.

Looking good but there seems to be some disconnected connectors - what dizzy are you using?

The only loose connections are the ones for the injection system, they are all cable tied up out the way though. The standard dizzy from the GT.

      Hello pleb here.

I have finally got round to buying some wheels for my '93 breadvan,
they are 13"x6J BBS offset is 33.
wondering what the best bet for tires is and not having problems with scrubbing, car is not lowered at all.
cheers for any help, again sorry for being dumb.

      Hi all

I've been contacted by Volkswagen UK who would like a Polo Harlequin for an event at the end of the month. I've no idea what the event is, but am guessing that they want a standard car.

Usually with these, if the car is loaned to VW, a loan car is substituted in its place, but I don't know if this is the case with this one.

At the moment, I think anything will be considered, so if you have a showroom (or very tidy) Harlequin and are interested, then reply to this thread, send me a message on Twitter @polodrivercom or email rich@polodriver.com.

      Cheers!
      Rich

So, recently purchased a 1991 mk2f polo with a 6n2 engine and gearbox conversion. Stripped the whole shell out today, no seats inside but a lot of wiring hanging around. Looking for ideas to use for the rear as I’m leaving the back seats out so wanting to board it and carpet the rear but need some great ideas to go with! Thanks guys

For sale is a 1.3 single point injection out of a 1993 mk2f polo and the 5 speed gearbox to go with it. The engine was running absolutely fine and had just been through mot days before removal, ive replaced it with a gt engine. The gearbox whines a little at 30-40 mph. There is no ecu or wiring supplied with this engine as it is still on the vehicle. Collection from bath.
