yes. same for alternator.

right... so no voltage drops on those cables. going to have to do what dvderlm said ten times and take it for a long drive 15 minutes minimum and monitor the voltage drop on the gauge inside cab.

 

then do voltage drop tests again when cables are hot.

on further  inspection found smallish break in ground cable from negative battery to gearbox

does starter motor require more amp when it's hot. got a feeling it's tryna draw more wattage when warm.

i doubt a little break like this can cause this. 20-25% of it is broken. 

 

 

 

 

How far did you drive? At how much load?

 

Yeah, that cable won't help the electrons flow reducing current.  Fit a fat jump lead as extra earth temporarily, see if that helps.

There's more friction when hot, when engine not broken in and still tight. Rings sliding in the bores which get smaller as block metal expands, so engine compresses to higher pressure, it's going to need more current to turn over and reach 250 to 500rpm firing speed and have enough volts to spark.

it's not that, just survival skills are shit lol

replaced ground cable from negative battery to gearbox and drove car 5 minutes, stopped, and started, drove another 5 minutes, stopped  , and started up again.

so working now. looks like the starter was trying to draw more power when hot but little break in cable wasnt allowing it too.

still got this hot start problem. any chance of using a starter motor more powerful than 1.1KW?
