Looking at a polo 6N 1.9 TDI . Is this engine any good and what is there to look out for .

The 1.9TDi wasn't an option in the 6N1/2 models in the UK only the 1.9 Non TD

 

The 1.9TDi was available in the 6V2 Classic models and they are almost indesructable I have the same engine in my Octavia estate and it's on 198,000 miles, the only problem are the variable vanes in the turbo, they get coked up and stick causing the turbo to drop out at higher rpm, there is an easy fix to this with Mr Muscle oven cleaner

I know a 1.9tdi with 750,000+ miles, original turbo. 

This is the same as the car I'm talking about.  

I know that it's not a polo.in the pic   sane shape 1999 polo 1.9 TDI 5door polo saloon . 

What sort of power are we talking about and is it tunable??.

Oooh, cordoba coupe, they're getting rare now. I think the tdi was about 90  hp, but yep, they're very tunable. 

 

Look out for rust and dodgy electrics. 

Same engine as mk3 golf tdi and polo estate which was 90bhp.

 

have you thought of a 1.4 Tdi polo or Lupo great engine to tune.

Depending on the engine code it comes in either 90 or 110bhp
