Hey, I just bought a W reg 1.4 Polo extremely low mileage.

Has a few issues, one being a wobbly wing mirror. It is loose from the pivot that you can fold the mirror in on. Is this a case of taking out the glass and there being something to tighten from inside of the casing? 

The electric windows are not functioning, I located the fuse box which is under the dashboard on the drivers side. Does anyone know which fuse it will be. There is a diagram, but being female, it means nothing to me.  (sorry not sorry)

It supposedly had new discs, has been sat a while, there was a binding noise which has gone, while driving it yesterday, on braking the pedal moves up and down. What would cause this?

The wobbly mirror might be a broken spring that holds the folding joint together, if it is only a replacement mirror base will cure this.

 

Most of any door electrical functions not working are caused by broken wires where they pass through the flexy rubber tube between the door and the body, the only way to prove that is to peel the rubber out from the door and have a look.

 

As you have a W reg (2000) it might be one of the last 6N1's or an 6N2 so without that info it's not possible to advise on what the fuse locations are if the door wiring is OK,  the easy way to tell what model you have is the speedo unit, are the water temperature & fuel gauges between the rev counter and the speedo or are they within the rev counter gauge 

 

The brake pedal movement might be caused by a couple of things, as it's been standing one of the calipers might of partially siezed on the mounting pins or the discs haven't been replaced and are warped, if the pedal is a fast pulsing movement that could be the ABS working and that's a normal reaction.
