GT mk2f clutch and pressure plate help

Featured Replies

Hi all I removed the clutch while waiting for the new kit to arrive. But like a plum I forgot to take a photo of the pressure plate so I could install the new one the same.

So now I can't remember the correct way round the pressure plate is installed. So if anyone can help please ?

Many thanks.

Thanks for the help I took it out and checked and I had installed it the correct way round.

Look closely at the plate, as they normally have "Flywheel side" stamped into one side

Oh ok well I'm done for the night I shall check it out Friday .

The friction plate has ceramic surfaces and central coil springs in a cage around a splined shaft hole thingy.

It is clamped between flywheel and pressure plate.

The friction disc cage is level with the ceramics on one side and protrudes above ceramics on the other side.

The protruding cage side faces away from the flywheel.

You can't attach a pressure plate the wrong way onto flywheel. Its finger springs face the gearbox and are pushed by the release mechanism.
