I just bought a 6n1 afh polo to break for a conversion in my mk2f 1l genesis. 

What gearbox is best option to fit?

Thanks for the reply. Is there any dis advantage of using a 5 speed from a mk3 golf 1.4? I was under the impression they were the same box with an extra gear. I take it the 6n Afh box is not an option?

6n gearbox is a legend of failure, apparently the 4speed combined with the afh works really well for the power delivery

Legend of failure ha ha sums it up quite well! 4 speed it may well be then, I just liked the idea of 5 speed for top end.

is the mk3 golf 1.4 5 speed box a pile of dung too?
