Hi all. 

New to all this. 

 So just got myself back on road after a while. Needed a runaround for work so invested a 1.2 2002 polo. Picked it up cheap. Ill try keeping this short. Fault codes showing lambda sensor and MAP sensor. Ive been trying to find the map sensor for part number but unable to locate in engine bay. Scoured some posts om forums and pictures but the engines look different to mine. I have chassis number if it helps?

You might find by removing the sensor and spraying it with "Carb cleaner" as they do get gummed up with oil deposits, but DO NOT use a brush to try and clean it as they are quite delicate, and this might cure the fault code, What was the code ?

 

In general if you need parts for the engine it is normally best to use the engine code, this can be found on the paper sticker in the boot or in the service booklet (if you have one ) if not the first three letters of the engine serial number on the V5 logbook is the engine code

Checked the sticker in the boot. Polo A04!? Or have I read the wrong bit. And the codes are :

 17563 manifold pressure sensor (G71) P1155 - 35-00- short to plus 

 16514 Oxygen (lambda) sensor B1 S1 P0130 - 35-00 malfunction in circuit. 

 

 

 

 

That's not the code for the engine, it will be something like AWY, BMD, AZQ OR BME

Ahhh. Its the AZQ
