Mk2 Fuel Tank Filler Neck

Featured Replies

Replaced the tank on my breadvan 16/17years ago, had the usual alignment issues but lived with it being too short and over to the left (I was told was a genuine tank when buying then got a box with made in china on it and had to fit it as mot next day!!). Tank has had to come out again for welding. mate who's doing the work wants to try and get it to line up properly and was debating working some flexi into the neck to help it fit. I'd plastered the neck in paint and it seems to be fine still.

Has anyone done anything like this, or have any ideas?

Cheers

long pole in the neck and heave on it to adjust it ...tbh id leave it might crack it , rather a bad fitment than a bit of flexi hanging under there

It looks horrendous though and want it sorted in a better way. Thought someone may have come up with something. He'd said it was a real session to get it out even.

Great, good to know, the tank is already out so mate is hoping the likes of this will make it easier to fit and fit correctly!
