Carburettor problems persist

Got the engine running. The flange below the carburettor is still leaking like crazy. So the solex 31 7 has got to go 😞

I was thinking about getting a pierburg 1b3 from the HZ engine. Went to a scrap yard that had one but the carb wasn't there anymore.

Found a 32 tlm on ebay from a mk2 fiesta. Saw multiple people here also do the conversion to this carb so I decided to buy the thing.

Latest updates

Put new brembo brake shoes and drums on last week. After driving 1.5 hours to  a scrapyard for a non-existing carburettor I decided to remove a backseat from one of the cars there. Not the same as the original though.

Finally back on the road

After months of standing in the shed Paula the polo is driving again!

The swap to a weber 32 TLM has worked nicely. Apart from a slightly erratic idle it performs really well in comparrison to the solex 31 pict 7.
