Polo gt won't idle after auto choke

Featured Replies

Hi there i recently took my gt throttle body apart and totally stripped it to clean it and now when I start the car it will start no bother and idle high on auto choke until it kicks off and then it won't idle normally, do I need to set the idle screw on the throttle body or something else causing it to do this?

Forgot to say it revs etc fine just wont tick over just cuts out and starts straight away again and doenst idle 🙄

How do I adjust it mate screw it out or in?

Checking and adjustment conditions ● Electrical consumers switched off. Vehicles without catalyst and Lambda probe: ● Crankcase breather hose pulled off pressure regulating valve and sealed. For repairs only:
● Crankcase breather hose pulled off pressure regulating valve and sealed. ● Radiator fan must not run. ● Throttle valve potentiometer OK. Connector _ blue, 2 pin _ for coolant temperature sender pulled off with engine running. Notes ● Engine must not be started when connector is detached from coolant temperature sender. Otherwise control unit performs an emergency programme, correct adjustment not possible. ● Adjust idling speed and CO content to applicable specification by turning the adjustment screws alternately. ● Work sequence and adjustment screws ▸ Maintenance or Workshop Manual For repairs only:

● To adjust ignition timing, increase engine speed by hand to 2000 . . . 2500 rpm.
Vehicles 10.90 ▸ ● Before the check/adjustment the fault memory must always be interrogated. ● After checking/adjusting the control unit fault memory must be cancelled.
