New to this sort of thing. 

 

I need to replace my polos rear brake calipers, however with what's going on at the moment I'd rather not buy new ones, getting second hand ones are pretty hard to find.

 

My question is , are the brake calipers on a 9N3 the same as other vw models, for example the mk4/mk5 golf or maybe even VAG sister cars ,skoda fabia/ seat Ibiza?

 

I'm hoping they are, it will give me a wider search net for the calipers.

 

Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

The Fabia & Ibiza and the mk4 Golf are certainly options but you need to make sure they are for the same size discs as yours, as there is some variation on the sizes, especially on the higher performance models, however, the main reason the used ones are on the market is the handbrake mechanism is goosed, so beware ! also fitting any used calipers I would without fail replace the piston seals & dust covers and possibly the pistons as well, so It might work out cheaper to see what deals http://biggred.co.uk/  can do for you  

Thanks for the advice, it looks like I will probably just look at getting them new, probably not a good idea to take a chance on the brakes😅
