Actually I used this forum to find my polo back in about 2009!

I have a 1990 mk2 polo coupe s 

It's been great fun to own over the years😁 and on three occasions when I had no use or no money to run a car I lent it to mates to keep it and them on the road. 

 

It had damage when I bought it but it's gradually been getting worse over the years. Being t-boned and a couple of bonnet incidents etc. 🙄

I haven't paid much attention to the the bodywork and just enjoyed driving a ratty polo and the mechanics along the way. The biggest jobs so far being head gasket and bike carbs. 

So now it's time for me to finally learn something about bodywork and get it back on the road after nearly two years without mot due to rust. 
The problem appears to have started at the filler and has affected the rear quarter wheel arch and sill. The plastic trim had kept it hidden for a while. 

 

So I thought club polo would be a good place to start the project maybe I can pick up a few tips, parts and help others with the same problem. 

New to using forums so I'm thinking now maybe starting a build thread is of most value?
