how do I replace the comfort control module in my mk4 07 polo 9n2

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am new to this club polo and this is my first post so if I do anything wrong I apologise.  I just bought my polo 9n2 about a month back and want to replace the comfort control module, however when I look under the driver side footwell the path to remove the ccm is obstructed by the clutch pedal system*, am I missing something really obvious,

thanks in advance,

Awilderz.

*i have attached below a picture of what I saw the black box in the red circle being the ccm(I believe) and the blue part of the clutch obstructing the taking out of the ccm

Twist the clutch switch by 45° and it will come away, push in and twist the opposite way to re-install.

Do you suspect a problem with the CCM (if so what? ) or is this en-route to a remote C/L upgrade?

Hi Pete,

thanks for your reply, yes I’m trying to add remote central locking to the car, I’m fairly new to all this so how easy would you say it is to do this swap,

 thanks again,

Awilderz.

It turned out to be surprisingly easy, I thought.

Getting that control unit out is a bit of a contortionist's mission; and if you are swapping immo chip(s) from old keys into flip key remotes be super careful extracting them, they look very easy to break.

The only snag I hit was misunderstanding the pairing process, as I described at the end of the 'how to' thread not long ago.
