hello, just bought a set of coupe S alloys for my polo was wondering does anybody know the size of tyres that came on them originally would like the car to be as standard as possible, cheers.

165/65/r13 on the 5.5 inch

 

77T (or 77H) load and speed rating

 

To be really as from factory, if a German made car I reckon Semperit, Fulda or Continental tyres.

If Spanish made, probably Michelin.

 

 Just seen how much Conti ecocontrol 6 are. Try Goodyear Efficient Grip Compact  (to vote against Trump?) or (apparently European made) Hankook Kinergy Eco 2 k435

as alternatives with low rolling resistance.

Definitely worth spending the extra £5-10 a corner and get something decent. The right tyres make all the difference on these cars.

They're lovely wheels, will be superb on that car of yours. Only realised yesterday you've the jade green S, a mate had sent me a pic from Dollingstown. Another mate of mine used to own that wee car, he brought it in from England 5or6years ago. It's a cracking wee car dude, the 1.3 is a nippy wee thing too! 

You should get a few £ back if you sell the scala rims on.

Cheers mate, yeah hopefully i get a couple of quid for old wheels so i can get some tyres on haha, just would like her to be back to orginal plus scala wheels are a bit big and would scrape if theirs a few heavy bais in the car. Sure if u see it at a show come on over and have a wee look.

Mate had those scala rims refurbed are they still in good shape? Let me know what £ you looking for them and I'll mention to folks. Steve has set of the original coupe s steels and centres too, that's what your car had when my mate brought it in.

My '88 with 53k in '04 had those alloys, and a Michelin (MXV or something) on the mint condition gloss black steel spare wheel.

sorry Jim only seeing this now for some reason didnt get notification, how much u think they worth, the condition isnt too bad front left has a bit of a scuff but thanks to big tyres it isnt too bad. also mate do u have any idea what the original interior was? i know now that the interior is from a mk2f but would really love to have her with a mint original interior, cheers.

It was black with a white stripe I think, similar to this one. I know a guy who broke one a good few years ago indentical to yours, I'll check if he still has the interior. Did you ask Steve? He might have something.

Guy on rms has lovely silver coupe S that's a pic of his.

Not sure on price for wheels dude, I'll ask a few mates if they'd be interested.

Cheers Jim, even if i could just get the door cards would be good because if I had to I could probably get somebody to retrim mine in black and silver, will send Steve a message as well haven't asked him yet. sadly new wheels aren't on yet 😞 no money at the moment to put tyres on, cheers for asking round about my wheels Jim.

Asked mate about interior, the one he has he's keeping for his own coupe build unfortunately 😞 I'll check with him about door cards. 

 

Did the guy you bought it off put that interior in? He maybe still has the original one??  I can't remember if my mate did it when he had it or not.

 

Edit: Might have a lead on the correct coupe S seats, guy debating whether or not he'd sell. No door cards though.
