1ltr engine improvements

Featured Replies

Is it possible to get more out of my VW polo 1991 1ltr engine. ? Or do I just have to live it ? It's so slow . I don't really want to change the engine as I already swoped it out a few years ago like for like etc.

Thanks.

nothing much thats value for money

any traditional tuning mods would work , bigger cam , flowed head and manifolds , free flow exhaust , expert tuning on a rolling road etc

thing is you could easily run into 1000s of pounds and still only gain 10% or so .....so  a complete waste of money

most common sense /cheapest thing is drop in a 1300/1400 and use the managment you have , or a gt swap ....above that it gets expensive and still wont be as fast as a modern shopping car

Thought as much. I already have a GT coupe and it feels like a rocket compared to the 1ltr breadvan.

Thanks
