I have a 2008 Polo 1.2l.

Recently the central locking has been trying to activate as I'm driving.

It doesn't quite lock but it is clicking and visibly moving the interior locks all the time. It is annoying.

Do you know what may cause this?

I had similar in a mk1 Fabia that turned out to be a cracked solder joint on the passenger side front lock module.

Test each door in turn by unlocking with the remote, then opening the door and waiting a minute. If the C/L relocks (as if no door had been opened) it's probably the door you just did open that has the dicky lock.

I have a video of the pin waggling  freely within that joint but it's a shade to big to upload and I have no idea how to edit it.

The Polo doesn't have remote central locking but I can still check.
