Hi, I have recently bought my daughter a 2016 Polo Match. It has a touchscreen control panel but she is keen to add apple Carplay. My son recently bought a Mini and was able to get the software modified to include Carplay - does anyone know if this can be done in a VW? Hope so.

A lot depends on what the original buyer spec'd the options list with, but I think if you contact a main VW dealership they should be able to update the system but it won't be cheap expect to pay upwards of £200 as it needs to hooked up to their full diagnostic system that gets the firmware update from the factory, the other option would be one of the Chinese copies that have it already available

Yeah I looked into one for my Touareg but at over £600 I decided I could live without it but the Polo versions are a fair bit cheaper and they retain things like steering wheel controls, reverse camera etc (if you have them)
