Welcome to the forum.

Sorry, not heard of anyone supercharging a 1.4 16v.

If the compression ratio is over 9.5:1 you will struggle to make it work with any boost.

It would need different pistons, maybe custom rods to match those (forged?), or a decompression spacer between head and block to drop the ratio of swept volume to combustion chamber.

This site says 11:1 ratio. Not looked at all the engines...

Eaton from a Mini probably easy to source and reasonable match if a bit bulky for the engine bay. Or perhaps a G60 charger could replace air con compressor?

I think a G40 charger would be too small for 1390cc with 16valve flow rates.

I’m sure someone over on club Lupo has supercharged this engine 👌

What engine code Is yours batesy?

BBY

The 1.4 in the speed Hunter link is a 100bhp standard it was the sports model the standard 1.4 does come with 75bhp though. The gti is 130bhp.

I can’t imagine it impossible to supercharge the bby can it really be that different internally?

but personally I’d just go source an afh engine there’s many reasons why people have used them as a base to a build then again it depends what you want from it?
