So just bought a mk2 breadvan; but trying to figure out which of the wires are which as the factory stereo didn’t come with, I’ll include a picture to show what colour wires are there and the harness that was here to

I can’t add pictures as they’re too big unfortunately, but is anyone able to help / point me in the right direction with a. Diagram or something much appreciated 

What year/spec is your Breadvan?

 

My 89 1L originally had the radio connected to a permanent live which, according to the Haynes manual, is correct. It shares this feed with the cig lighter and clock(if fitted)

 

The obvious problem with that is having to remember  to switch the radio off when getting out of the car or risk a flat battery, so I modified mine to take a feed from a switched supply.
 

The minor downside of doing this is you can’t have the radio on without ignition on as there’s only a two position ignition switch fitted(ignition on & Start). However I decided this to be the best option, as I didn’t fancy being stranded somewhere just because I ‘d forgotten to turn the radio off!

 

On this Haynes diagram for 88 on models the radio is a red wire, R’ denotes ‘for radio connection’, coming off fuse S11.The other ‘R’ lower down is the earth connection.

 

Having just had a look it seems I ended up wiring the radio into the heater blower circuit, which is switched and fuse 14, you can see S14 on the diagram.

Sounds like you have a MK2f.

 

This is a also from a  Haynes Manual and hopefully is for your 92 Breadvan.
