Hi, ive recently lowered my mk2f polo on springs and now the steering rack seems to consistently rub. Is there any way to avoid this or improve this without raising the car?

The rack is fixed to the bulkhead.

The steering arms are attached to the stirrup on the rack's piston.

They pass through holes in inner wheel arch to tie-rod ends to the strut. 

 

Are the arms really rubbing on the bottom edge of that arch hole?

 

Bigger hole, but I've not come across anyone doing this.

G-lader ARB mounts to pull front wheels forward so arms more central in that hole (improves caster angle).

Is the rubber bellows in good nick? it' has grease inside.  If not the piston could corrode and sound awful.

How much have you lowered?

It's normally the driveshafts that rub. If you're going to grind the inner wing down, do reinforce it.
