Featured Replies

Hi I've got a 1996 6n1 polo and I've heard about this new fuel that's being brought in and I'm wondering if it will run on e10 or will I need to replace parts?. Thanks

Only modern petrol Polo that can't do E10 is

1.4 litre (63kW) FSI made from February 2002 to June 2006

Not sure why. Maybe aluminium injector rail?

Fuel hoses have been Ethanol safe SAE J30R9 for ages.

I'm not sure now I've checked for a 1996.

"However, the RAC has warned owners of cars built before 2002 that they should steer clear of the new petrol. It estimates that at least 600,000 vehicle owners will be affected"

So stick with E5 Super.

According to the Express

Basically, all Volkswagen vehicles, with the exception of some first-generation FSIs, are approved for use with the E10.

“If it is ensured that only original spare parts are used for Volkswagen young and oldtimers, they can also be operated with E10.”
