Hi all, 

 

I'm half way through an outer CV boot replacement and the circlip supplied with the GKN boot doesn't seem correct. The material used to manufacture appears too thick when compared to the original. The original has no signs of corrosion etc. so I'm tempted to re-use. 

 

I can't knock the CV joint back on with the new circlip fitted. 

 

Has anyone had this issue before? Should I just inspect and re-use the original?
