Thought i would start a "build" thread on my polo ! 

I've been trying the scratch the itch of having a 6n chassis since march 2020 when i had to get rid of my Flash Red 2001 1.4tdi 3 Door 6n2.

A little while ago i come across a 1995 Polo L for sale on facebook ! Me and a couple of friends decided we'd go and get it ! 

We drove a hour or so to a place called Ormskirk just outside of Preston (* Ish) , Found out that it's a One Owner car !! 

I was really excited to have a car that had only had remedial servicing carried out. It has had the sills done but that's sort of common for a 25-26 year old car.

It cleaned up really well it needs to be machine polished to get the maximum effect ! 

 

After a while i got fed up of having to make do with the broken drivers seat ! 

So hopped onto facebook market place and found a set of CL seats ! There not perfect but a lot better than a broken seat ! 

With Split Folding Rear Seats ! and height adjustable Front seats id class this as a OE+ Modification, maybe not 

a modification but it isn't standard so im counting it ahah !! 

Everything was going all wel for a while , took it out and met a couple of friends. Had a photo shoot with my Friend Joe's 6N2 Open-Air 5 Door , Which is a car i have been jealous of since wanting a Yellow 1.4 TDI Colour Concept Open-Air ! Will probably see more photos of this car in the future ! And a Liam's MK5 GTI ! 

Then a couple days after that disaster stuck... On the way to work and the car kept feeling slower and slower.

Had a look at work and it seemed fine after wiggling the coil pack. Then after work it happened again. 

Initially thought it was going to be a vacuum leak as thats what it sounded like at first , stripped it all down at the side of the road and found some lines that wasn't attached. Didn't fix it at all , I gave up as only having the 10-13mm spanner and the screwdriver that was in the car from factory ! I came back the next day but no luck so i parked it up on the side of the road in a village until next payday. Then i changed jobs so the car lay dormant for 2 months until i was able to get it fixed... With having no clue what was wrong and tried booking in at a couple of garages and they refusing me since the car's old my mate Kieran told me to take it to Garage 87 a Aircooled VW specialist in the area. They had the car for a hour and they diagnosed that the cat was blocked! 

Cheap fix ! It was back on the road again ! 

After a couple of weeks of it being back on the road again i finally rustled enough courage to slam it. Ordered a set of Jom Bluelines on a Friday morning and Saturday when i finished work they had arrived ! I decided to install them same weekend , a small trip to Halfords and i acquired a £40 tool set , 3/8 and 1/4 ratchets. Thinking they'd be all i need completely forgetting that its 20 something years old. Thankfully my mates Jed and Kieran from SNN Cars come in clutch with a buzz gun and the sockets i needed to put it all together ! I didn't chooses the best of places to install suspension but it was under cover and getting late so had it all apart in a multi-storey car park aha. Whilst there was some sort of gathering of BMW's who found it funny that these two VW kids were tearing apart a car ahah !  Before even installing the coils i decided i would wind them all the way down and take the helper springs out ! Most people wouldn't even bother doing this but i was on the hunt for lows ( Still am ) .

Installed it all and realised the mudflaps would be dragging on the floor which I'm not that fussed about. 

Rides pretty mint to be honest , unless there's a row of pot holes or terrible roads , I'll thank the local council for that. 

 

 

 

Have also sourced some wheels from a mate who has recently refurbished 6N steels with clip on chrome caps and lips so im excited to see how they will look , have attached a photo of his Fake Arosa from a little shoot i did a while back , have loads more photos of my car but waiting to get the film developed. Will be posting to the thread very soon ! 

The wheels im getting off him a either a 50 profile or a 60 so the car will be getting a little drop from those !
