Hi all, 

          I have a reoccurring lambda fault, bank 1 (before cat) bought a new Bosch lambda sensor, same issue, P0135, when I clear the fault, the car bunny hops? I have checked the fuses, everything seems ok, if anyone can help that would be great! 

 

 

What year is the car? What part number of sensor fitted?

That fault code suggests sensor 1 heater malfunction, but with a new sensor that moves on to suggesting a fuse, connection or wiring fault.

Pin 2 of the loom connector should get 12V from fuse 9 (10 Amp) when the fuel pump relay is energised, pin 1 of the loom connector should connect through to engine ECU pin 5

 

One thing I forgot to mention is that the engines thermostat is stuck open, would this confuse the ECU about getting up to nominal temperature? Fuse 9 is fine btw and the car is 54 plate.

Fix it and see if it changes the  fault symptoms? Unlikely to be related in my opinion, but worth fixing anyway.

It would seem that I have fixed the fault, I disconnected the ECU and re connected it, (it seems that the contacts corrode ever so slightly with age which causes resistance) after several journeys, the fault code P0135 has not reappeared. 🤞🏻
