9n3 Mirror Side Repeater Not Working Correctly

Featured Replies

Hi folks

I'm having an unusual fault with the offside side repeater mounted on the mirror of my 9n3. When indicating right the lamp flashes erratically, flickering on and off but when the hazard waning lights are activated it works correctly. I'm not really sure where to start with the fault finding process given that it works fine with the hazard warning lights. The nearside one is fine, as are the front and rears.  Any help much appreciated!

Edit to add:

The car is a 2007 1.6 16v.

Some further informtion I noticed about the behaviour; I swtiched the igntition on, turned the right indicator on and it worked fine but I then started the engine and the lamp in question was completely dead. I'll do some more testing tomorrow and report my findings.

That is very odd behaviour.  I can only speculate that you have a wire that's in a bad way, but not yet completely broken , in the boot between door and a-pillar on that side.

What year is the car? I think the wires to that bulb are probably black/white and brown.

Is there any difference in the (mis)behaviour if you have just ignition on rather than engine running, and try both normal and hazard triggered indications?

Hi Pete, thanks for the repsonse. The car is a 2007 1.6 16v.

I actually did notice a difference once this afternoon when intially investigating the problem. I swtiched the igntition on, turned the right indicator on and it worked fine but I then started the engine and the lamp in question was completely dead. I'll do some more testing tomorrow and report my findings.

Update: Is now dead. No life from indicator or hazards, engine running or not. (S)he's dead, Jim!

Check for broken wire in the door bellows now if you haven't already.
