Hi i have noticed my 2010 1.2 6R has an issue with the Clocks, signalling left i dont get a green turn signal on the dash, or it flashes like the bulb is loose, but these are all on board LED’s so is there an easy way to fix this?  I have checked and all the turn signals work from the outside, just the clocks dont seem to show this tuning left

Unfortunately, like most VAG cars of the age, they are prone to bad solder joints in the clocks, and it does sound like this in your case. There's not really an easy way to solve this, it's pull the clocks out, take them apart and get busy with the soldering gear. 

 

It might be worth giving the car a scan with VCDS or some other indepth diagnostics, just in case it happens to show a reason for the fault. 

 

Is there anything else not working properly, regardless of how unrelated it may seem?

Is it flashing at the correct rate, but just dimly? It's not crystal clear to me what you mean by this:

I had to replace one of the turn signal telltale LEDs on my 9N's cluster when it went so dim I could barely see it in daylight. Coupled with the none-too-loud audible clicks I was often driving around with my indicators left on like a numpty. 

Just harvested one off a spare cluster and transplanted in.

It flashes brightly for a split second.

Not faults on VCDS at all, everything else works though i cannot activate recommended gear change i suspect the clocks arent up to that lol, 

all the leds are covered in plastic, i would need to take the needles and clock faces off to re solder any joints. 

OK, different to what I had, so probably not same cause.

That's a right pain I find, especially if you want the needles back in perfectly the same orientations afterwards.

Yep, brain surgery to fix a headache. Try giving the clocks a smack and see if the light works better for a bit, and that will pretty much confirm it's a solder joint. 

 

My SE's got recommended gear change on. We don't often agree, so I'm probably going to code it out to be honest.

So when it doesn't work if i stop and put the signal on and smack the clocks it will work ok for a journey or two but doesn't last long.
