I'm wanting to remove my old Beta radio from my MK4(?) Polo, but I cannot find online if I need a separate wiring harness for this model or if it is a standard fitting. Any advice, or where to buy a wiring harness would be greatly appreciated. I've attached pictures of what I can see when I remove the radio

That is a standard wiring connector, bit strange that it only has 2 speakers yet had connections for a CD player (Blue connector)  the only thing to consider is if you're going to fit an aftermarket radio ? you will need to use an external "phantom power" supply for the roof aerial amplifier or your reception will be terrible

Thanks for your reply, so you’re saying that this is a standard connector, therefore if I bought this new head unit, i wouldn’t need any sort of adapter to get it working? Also, sorry if this is a stupid question, but what do you mean by a phantom power supply? Would it be a case of getting an adapter to plug the aerial into, that would then connect to a power supply somewhere?

After finding the install instructions it looks like it is supplied with an adapter loom that will just plug into the Black & Brown power/speaker plugs but there will be facility to use the original CD player, the only thing you will probably need to do on the adapter loom is to swap the Red & Yellow connectors but they mention that in the install details.

For the aerial amp power the OEM radio sends 12v up the aerial coax cable and this is known as a "phantom supply" so to get power to the aerial you will something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/255179185453?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D1110006%26algo%3DHOMESPLICE.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D238391%26meid%3Df0f782e75a34404aac8755aee89d2550%26pid%3D101195%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D5%26sd%3D255390880227%26itm%3D255179185453%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DSimplAMLv9PairwiseWebMskuVariantAspectsHighPrecision&_trksid=p2047675.c101195.m1851&amdata=cksum%3A255179185453f0f782e75a34404aac8755aee89d2550|enc%3AAQAGAAABMIIp3bTCXFAKw6S9crk9CpAGj7Sy2IW1E6PUnW60%2Fhv25ataIj3rxPU6p1LE4mXX4Vk%2BjLiWlHM9d7A5542SXWXJRTsf2DPatoYsSXYsakP0UxD7C14Bpevo03HLhtgnZtotlaBvPkoS1oBL9izYd13dVDQvXkjjEclLz%2BMdG3B8vHOnNjpr5NzUSuQknC1rsI4FVo8IavlFRvlfmkAukrC192J4ckHcphau905IMovrkhJD0ISotlFWxq88vMdt9pl%2FBzJpEO2o1o2IWWHhepvIS%2BxPfT2m3At3zIQa3N4WhXlo19uqGBN6opsL1gqsF9BaeXDrTAJQTWvcS5haO1pgx4sjexqbRth9g8FsHg83FHifP%2BeJ3%2FSJbg4SWfl77fam99%2B56pU4TS3qL%2FgKI4o%3D|ampid%3APL_CLK|clp%3A2047675  but from the install PDF I can't see what the aerial connection is so you might need a different end fitting like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/403356650173?hash=item5de9ee0abd:g:W~4AAOSwK8thucjg  then you will need to splice the power wire into the ignition ON supply in the adapter loom

Thanks for helping me still, everything you've said has made sense so thank you. The only question I still have is, looking at the wiring diagram of the head unit I sent, it seems like i'd have to directly attach the wires to cut wires on the car itself, could I buy a loom or harness to avoid cutting connectors off the car itself, you know attach the wires to an adapter and just plug that into the car? What is the standard fitting called? I could possibly find an adapter if I knew what I was looking for hahaa. I've attached an image of the wiring diagram on the head unit which leads me to believe I'd need to cut the wires in the car.

The manual I downloaded from this https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/res/manuals/5025/2012a8f83d999a1e209431c18f18f38c/50255352M.pdf  starting on page 11 shows the supplied adapter lead just plugs into the back of the head unit and into the removed OEM connectors in your first pictures  maybe there are different adapter leads supplied for different countries as the diagram I linked to was for the GB supplied units ?
