The rubber rings have gone again on my mk2, can anyone recommend better quality ones that will actually last? 

These seem good value but I’d rather pay for ones that will last

 

I always used to fit an extra hanger at the back of the nearside sill and run it across to the bend. It takes the wobble out of the system and stops it cutting through the rubbers. 

I’m using the Powerflex exhaust mounts and have had no issues with them

I bought them from eBay, but pretty sure you can pick them up from anywhere that stocks the Powerflex products.

 

just type in Powerflex exhaust mount mk2 polo and you’ll find them easily.

The poly ones are very good, but they take a bit of persuasion to put on. Make sure the hangers on the car are solid before you try to use them. 

I used the Powerflex ones on mine too and I initially couldn't get the buggers on. The one on the middle section works well but on the back box they seemed just a touch too thick. Standard 4 way rubbers are a bit thinner so may be better. But what I did was use the powerflex ones with a couple of hose clips joining them to the bracket - probably not ideal but it works. I've also slung some steel cable round the pipe fore and aft of the back box and attached it with tiny u bolt clamps just as a fail-safe. Basically my exhaust is not coming off any time soon again even if it is a bit over engineered now!

I’d got the ones I’d posted above already before folks had posted about powerflex, had taken to local exhaust centre as they’re very helpful, even they had a struggle to get those ones on.
