Clutch cable - bushes?

Featured Replies

Hi. I noticed a while back there's a rubber part / bush on the clutch cable where it passes through a casting on the gearbox that's a bit mangled.

See the bottom of the photo attached. I just wondered if this is likely to be a problem - it's been like that for ages and the clutch operates fine I just wondered if it's worth replacing this rubber bit and any other bushes if you can get them separately or the whole cable?

  • Could it be the grommet where the cable passes through the bulkhead? Just slid down the cable?

In fact looking at pictures of new clutch cables online I'm not even sure if the bit on the right is part of the clutch cable at all. Seems to just be a random circular bit of rubber. Must have a closer look to figure out what's going on there.

Could it be the grommet where the cable passes through the bulkhead? Just slid down the cable?
