Hi guys,

 

Just noticed this little bung when inspecting my engine bay. 

 

Never noticed it before so not sure if it's always been open but I wanted to know if I should close it?

 

On a side note, it would also be helpful if anybody could tell me what it does and why it's there?

the cap just pushes in , its for checking the timing marks on the flywheel

Or for pouring gearbox oil on your clutch if your last name is "Haynes" and you write manuals
