Is this spoiler possible to remove

Featured Replies

I’m not wanting to hVe this spoiler thingy on my car, it seems to just be held on by 3m or some glue of some sort and was hoping if removed it would look just like the stock lip on a polo (2nd picture) . If you are is removable will it be relatively simple or is it not worth the time ?

First Welcome to the forum.

It is held down mainly with a bonding agent there are some clips in the main section

Lift middle piece of roof spoiler and release from fasteners located on underside. 110mm either side from centre line of tailgate and 215mm from the first two

Remove middle piece of roof spoiler

There is an adapter plate under the spoiler that can be removed but it will be damaged and needing a replacement

The side pieces are just bonded on and will need a cheese wire to cut them off so will most likely damage the paint

Cut through fastener between adapter and side piece of roof edge on adapter
At top, position cutting cord  under side piece of roof spoiler .
Cut through adhesive sealant using pull handles -V.A.G 1351/1--3- and cutting cord .
At bottom, position cutting cord  under side piece of roof spoiler .
Cut through adhesive sealant using pull handles -V.A.G 1351/1--3- and cutting cord .
Remove side piece of roof spoiler.
