My daughters 2010 1.2 petrol polo has a fault code p0113. It says it’s the IAT sensor but I can’t find it anywhere. Also the main dealer can’t find the IAT sensor for this model. Any help locating this item would be greatly appreciated. Is it in the MAF on this model? Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

In the same package as the MAP (there's probably no MAF) sensor I expect.  Engine code would help me to be sure.  Engine code can be found on the build sticker in the boot, or as the letters at the start of 'engine number' on the V5c certificate.

Engine code looks like CGP. It also says 6R1 2B4. Thanks for the quick reply. So is it a case of replacing the MAP?

Yes, part of MAP sensor for that engine. 

I'd be wanting to at least inspect, ideally test the relevant wiring associated with it.  In the absence of additional codes relating to the manifold pressure sensor side of things, I think the only relevant wire can be the green one from pin 2 of the 4-way connector, going to engine ECU pin 56. 

If there's no sign of damage to that wire, maybe try another sensor, ideally a cheap ebay/scrapyard one to prove the point first.

Part number should be on the body of the sensor. Access/visibility looks to be the enemy if I've correctly identified the position of it:

Hmm, not sure why Nige and I are looking at different locations, maybe it moved at some point in time. If it isn't where my image showed, look at Nige's location instead!

Maybe the pictures in the ebay listing I picked were of a different engine, misdescribed in the title.

 I found the MAP sensor, it was down on the left side of the engine near the dip stick. I’ve removed it and it’s pretty mucky on the probe side. So I will get a MAP cleaner and clean it up. Hopefully that will sort the issue. Thanks for all your help guys.

Sorry for the bum steer on location.  Let us know if a clean up works please. I wouldn't be firing too much cleaner deep into the pressure sensor, the temp bit is the bead you can see.

Just a quick update. I cleaned the sensor and it started reading but was fluctuating wildly between -40 and 6. It then stopped working again stuck at -40c. So I guess I will have to order the replacement part. Need to get her back on the road. Thanks for everyone’s help.
