6n2 1.4 16v ahw to afk swap

Hi all have owned my 6n2 around a year now engine is high mileage need help on swapping it over I can't find engine code the same as mine ahw but I have found a low mileage afk at a decent price am I able to just drop the lump In plug play or will I need to change ecu key ect

AFK is 74kW and AHW is 54kW so I suspect you would need the AFK matching ECU to get best power, torque.

 

That said If you keep all the inlet and exhaust of the AHW it should flow about the same as both are 1390cc as far asI can tell, and you can keep using the AHW's ECU.

 

 

BBY should be very similar to AH W.

@passmore 6n232 remember that your engine code was fitted to other models than the 6N2, have you tried https://www.stevensvwspares.com/  as they have a good stock of engines at decent prices

Bby runs different coil pack from the looks of it the afk is identical other than inlet but I'm already running gti manifold with a megane 1.8 I think throttle body not 100% as I have tried 4 different ones to get it running right 1.0 gearbox  I have a decat straight to gti back box and one of them Internet remaps it flys to 100mph then there's nothing doesn't bother me tho as I don't rang it so the afk should run OK if not I'll just look out for a ecu and have me key coded cheers dvderlm

Just to let you all know its a straight swap easy runs sounds on the ahw ecu dont need to have key coded ect
