I am collecting a complete 6n 16 valve tomorrow. The shell is shot but I have a wild notion of putting the running gear into my 1.9sdi 6n2. Obviously it's a diesel to petrol conversation but also planning to run bike carbs. Have about 2 months to get it done so any snippet of information would be amazing 

It's not one that i know much about, but you will have to change/adapt the pedal box. SDI's with a throttle sensor on the pedal box, whereas you'll want a cable for carbs.

 

There's a lot in the FAQ's and that about putting valvers in Mk2/f's, so a fair bit of that will apply. I've got a feeling all the clocks in your 6n2 will be electronic, so that might well cause you more headaches than anything else.

 

It's counter-intuitive, but you might find it a better starting point to keep the injection. I'm not sure how the OBD compares, I think a 6n would be OBD1 and a 6n2 would be OBD2, but I could be wrong there, so I don't know whether that would mean going to a standalone ECU.
