Trying to figure out what in my Golf

Featured Replies

I’m trying to figure out whats in my mk1 golf. On an old advert I found from over 10 years ago it was advertise to having a 1.3 8v with a hydro head.
I was wondering if anyone in this community might recognize anything to help me identify what’s going on. I understand the whole bay is a mess and thats why I’m trying to figure out what parts are correct before ordering to try get this car going.
thank you in advance

May well be worth trying club gti if you don't have any joy here.

Going from the big cambelt cover, I'd say if it's a 1272cc, it's going to be a 2G engine code. Definitely a hydraulic head, they have 3 bolts in the middle of the rocker cover, the mechanical ones have a series of tiny bolts around the outside of the cover.

The Ramair foam filter needs a reincarnation as a clean air filter.

But that none standard piece may indicate a nice Weber DMTL underneath (rather than a Pierburg 2e3) and could just needs its jets unblocking.
