The fellah who did all of the work on my Polo just got "left" a lovely looking X reg Golf.  It's a 1.4 8v (I think) and I was just wondering about the engine code.   Such a pity but like so many of these cars they are just being sent for scrap.  No rust on the body panels, ( I really like the headlight cluster) interior is spot on and it starts on the button BUT....  there is rust underneath!

 

He could easily weld it and and get an MOT but as he says - who would buy it from him?  No one.  I guess.

 

Anyway - back to my question - what would the engine code be - can anyone help?
